Brian Eno Calls On Public Help to Get Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Christmas No 1.

A campaign is aiming to launch a Palestinian lullaby to the top of the UK charts. The campaign seeks to deliver assistance to communities in Gaza while also highlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Solidarity and an "Chart Upset"

Composer and producer Brian Eno, who contributes to the track, stated that the song titled Lullaby represents a chance to support Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unexpected chart success.

“That would be amazing if that occurred, yes,” he said. “I’m not gonna be completely let down if it doesn’t, Christmas singles are a unique phenomenon.”

Powerful Theme of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who performs on the adaptation of a cultural piece called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the song's resilient spirit.

“The song holds a deeply meaningful spot for a lot of people,” Barghouti shared. “The essence is that I would choose to perish with honor than exist without freedom. That’s the main theme of the song; we desire to exist a life of dignity that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Recording Origins and Star-Studded Lineup

The single was laid down following a major charity concert held in September. Originally intended to be performed and recorded live, the rendition was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The diverse array of artists contributing to Lullaby features a selection of well-known figures from the scene. All participated in the September show, which reportedly raised a substantial amount for charitable causes.

Final Touches and Availability

Lullaby was brought to life by a group of talented individuals. The song blends a combination of the original Arabic with freshly written English words.

The organizers behind the project have stated that their goal is to raise as much as possible for a dedicated fund. These donations will be channeled to projects in Palestine through an non-profit partner.

“There is no a specific target,” a spokesperson explained. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Naturally, the greater the amount, the better. Every penny goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the area was described as its profound destruction, with a vast majority of property reportedly destroyed or damaged.

“Against that backdrop, a few million doesn’t make a massive dent. But I think what does make a difference is above all making this cause better known and proving the human dimension of the story.”

The track is set to be released this Friday. Additionally, a video of the benefit event will be made available for streaming on a major video platform from mid-December.
