Iranian Forces State Strike on American Facility in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.

Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched missile attacks throughout the Middle East in retaliation for a large-scale and continuing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any damage is not yet known and the United States has not commented.

Airspace Engagements

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - reported they have intercepted missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the region.

Operation "Truthful Promise 4"

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran initiated by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far targeted sites associated with the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the regime.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had identified an incoming Iranian missile barrage.

The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses dealt with the projectiles with great effectiveness and destroyed a series of missiles," it added.

It said debris landed in a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, causing some property damage and fatalities.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
