Trump Invites Relatives of Injured National Guard Members to White House

Former President Donald Trump revealed on Sunday that he has asked the family of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to attend the executive mansion.

He noted that he spoke to her parents and they were “deeply grieving”.

Information on the Heartbreaking Incident

US army specialist Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was killed in a shooting on Wednesday in the nation's capital.

Her colleague, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, 24, remains hospitalized in grave state.

Memorials across West Virginia have been held in their remembrance.

White House Call

The commander-in-chief stated he’s talked about a White House visit for the parents of both individuals of the West Virginia National Guard.

“I said: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a tough thing, come to the White House. We’re going to honor her,” Trump informed the press. “And in the same way with him, no matter the outcome.”

Public Support

Community members came together over the weekend at the high school in West Virginia to pay respects to Sarah.

Both she and Wolfe had been fulfilling duties with the West Virginia National Guard as part of the president’s national effort to assist law enforcement in Washington DC.

“Sarah was the individual that teachers hoped for. She behaved with calm resilience, a warm expression and a upbeat demeanor that inspired people around her,” Jarrod Hankins, the head of her former high school, stated to the Associated Press. “She was sweet, considerate and always ready to support those in need.”

Funeral arrangements for Sarah are still being arranged.

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old individual from Afghanistan with one count of homicide and charges of attempted murder while armed.

The event caused the administration to pause asylum applications and halt providing entry permits to holders of travel documents.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a native of the city, started his military career in February 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman High, as reported by the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “battling to survive”, the state’s leader the governor mentioned on Fox News Channel’s The Sunday Briefing.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi informed the program that she also intended to speak to his relatives.

Memory of Sarah Beckstrom

Beckstrom, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in June 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with excellence, according to the military.

“She had a lot of compassion and she certainly had bravery,” Morrisey addressed the gathering at the memorial. “Though her life ended too soon, she has created a legacy that’s going to be remembered always.”
